Synology RS2423RP+/RS2423+ Overview
To replace the previous RS2421+/ RS2421RP+ 2U 12-bay rackmount NAS, Synology launched the updated RS2423+ and RS2423RP+ in February 2023. Compared to RS2421+/ RS2421RP+, the new RS2423+ and RS2423RP+ are configured with better-performing CPUs. RS2423+ and RS2423RP+ are equipped with an AMD Ryzen 1780B quad-core processor running at 3.35 GHz, while the previous RS2421+/ RS2421 are equipped with a Ryzen V1500B processor running at 2.2 GHz. The RS2423+ and RS2423RP+ (redundant power supply) are next-generation, versatile 2U 12-bay storage servers particularly suited to centralized data storage and sharing, endpoint and server backups, monitoring and management, and other business applications. The RS2423RP+/RS2423+ features sequential read/write performance of more than 3,500/1,700 MB per second, up to 216 TB of raw storage, and the option to boost I/O speeds with SSD caching, providing flexible storage with powerful built-in data protection.
Two models are available: the RS2423+ and the RS2423RP+. The RS2423+ is equipped with a single power supply, and the RS2423RP+ is equipped with dual power supplies to keep services up and running in the event of a problem with one of the power supplies. There are no other performance differences between the two models.

On the back of the rack, the model is equipped with a 10GbE RJ-45 port, 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 USB 3.2 Ports, and, most importantly, an Expansion Port, which allows the user to select the appropriate Ethernet Adapter E10G30-F2 or E25G30-F2 according to their actual needs.

RS2423RP+/RS2423+ provides an expansion Port to support a flexible 10G/25G Ethernet Adapter. By using this high-speed Network Interface Card, RS2423RP+/RS2423+ can connect with other devices via fiber optic cabling over long distances.
