Do you do a SFP and/or SFP+ BiDi Module Pair that works over Multi Mode Fibre cable.
Thanks for your question. At present only 1000BASE-BX SFP BiDi Multimode available, but it is unpopular and has MOQ request. 10G SFP+ BiDi support only single-mode fiber.
Thank you for the information. One question: Is it possible to do SFP+ BiDi over Multi-Mode Fibre and is it due to demand that you do not manufacture them at this time? I am just looking at possibility of marketing performance upgrade opportunities over older fibre infrastructure as it is not a market that is well understood amongst installers. Any expert opinions on the possibilities of doing this would be welcome and of course any pitfalls there might be in trying to achieve this.
As we know, there is no vendor supplying multimode BiDi SFP because of the technologies and market demand.
In the older fiber infrastructure scenario, it is suggested to use LRM transceiver. Such as 10GBASE-LRM SFP+ transceiver, it supports max 220m link distance over OM3 multimode fiber and need to add mode condition patch cable (MCP) over OM2/OM1. All of this transceivers request two fibers, one for transmit and one for receive.
Single strand fiber is not supported for multimode fiber.
Hope this information is helpful. Any questions, please feel free to let me know.
