The MC-GSA11-L is a Gigabit SFP media converter designed to convert 10/100/1000BASE-T copper to 1000BASE-X fiber optic. It features an open Gigabit SFP slot, allowing you to choose the MSA-compliant pluggable optics that best meet your fiber connection needs. This SFP fiber media converter lets you choose a wide range of SFP transceivers that suit your single mode or multimode cabling systems, such as 1G SFP transceiver, BiDi SFP transceiver, and CWDM SFP transceiver and supports transmission distances up to 160 kilometers (99.4miles) depends on different SFP modules. The Gigabit SFP media converter offers a flexible and cost-effective way to extend the distance of an existing copper network, the life of non-fiber-based equipment, or the space between two devices, allowing you to maximize the usage and performance of legacy equipment.
This Gigabit SFP Media Converter is manufactured with the latest IC from the USA or Taiwan and a high-quality fiber optical transceiver to provide excellent electrical characteristics to ensure reliable data transmission and long working life. 6 Group LED indicated lights could fully monitor the working conditions of fiber converters, which makes it easy for end-users to observe and diagnose the failure of network operation.
This product provides external power as default. It can be used as a stand-alone unit or slide-in module when inserted into Optcore’s low-cost 14-slot Media Converter Rack Chassis (MC-RACK-14) that allows all the fiber media converters to be powered by a single internal power supply.

Works with Virgin FTTH. Just set the VLAN to 35 on your router and all’s good. As for the speed, I get the same speed as with the Valerie modem provided (100 mbps).

Works wonderfully wonderful. This is a piece of equipment every computer enthusiast with crappy Bell internet service NEEDS.
Bell FTTH uses their, honestly, POS Home Hub 3000… It’s garbage.
Sure it “works”… you get good speeds… but any enthusiast knows that the stock modem is absolute garbage.
This unit translates the SFP optical signal into your house to a regular ethernet jack…
Don’t know why I haven’t done this sooner.
Almost everyone on the planet knows that a dedicated standalone router is much better…
Bell’s HH3000 never worked properly with it’s DMZ.
It would work when you set, but you reboot and advanced DMZ breaks.
Get this. Plug in your advanced af router, and open up a VLAN 35 to connect over PPPOE to Bell.
Done deal. Trash the HH3000…
Okay, don’t trash it because you’ll probably be charged for not returning the modem lol.
