Hi:
I purchased 8 Optcore SFPP-T modules from a local supplier for use in a Mikrotik Cloud router switch along with a QNAP NAS device and two Intel 520-2 10GB NIC’s installed in an HPE server. My supplier was 100% sure the modules would work in the Mikrotik (they do) and fairly sure they would work in the QNAP and the Intel NIC’s.
I have not had a chance to try the QNAP but definitely having issues with the Intel NIC’s. When the server the NIC is in first powers on I can see a link on at the NIC as well as at the Mikrotik. However, as soon as software initializes on the server the link drops. Intel PROset shows the slot the GBIC is in an offline state and states the “port cannot start”. Swapping GBIC to the other port produces same results.
Is there an Optcore module that will work in the Intel card? I want 10GB copper.
Hi Robert,
our generic SFPP-T module will work with MikroTik & QNAP, but it may not work with Intel NIC; it needs recoding for compatibility with Intel NIC.
So we suggest you buy a Intel-compatible module and try again. https://www.optcore.net/product/intel-e10gsfpt-comp-10gbase-t-copper-sfp/
