QuestionsCategory: After-Sales Service & Returnsfp-fiber-media-converter-problem
Tim asked 5 years ago

I purchased 2 of your fiber media converters (open Sfp) and what I need is them to talk to each other through fiber. I have Cisco SFP\’S that I regularly use on Cisco switches glc-ge-100fx, and glc-fe-100fx and neither pair will communicate when plugged in to your converter. I tried swapping the fiber A/B of course, and I am a fiber technician, so I know the fiber is good. Is there a compatibility issue here? If so, what SFP\’S should I get for multimode and then single mode? Thanks in advance

Sorry for that, would you please share with us some detailed information?
1. What is the PN of the media converter? MC-GSA11-L?
2. MC-GSA11-L supports any MSA compliant 1G SFP module, but it can not support FE SFP, if you have Cisco SFP, would you please try GLC-LH-SMD or GLC-SX-MMD?
If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Thank you for the reply. I have try sx. Yes, it is the MC-GSA11-L. Plugged it all in again and it works!
