QuestionsCategory: Optical Transceiverquestion-about-10gbase-t-sfp-module-for-aruba-2540-switches

As you know, you are one of few people that make a 10GBASE-T module for the Aruba 2540 switches, and I have some questions. First, if we do 2 of these modules in a single switch, can we also use the other SFP ports for proper 10Gbe fiber connections as well? Ideally, we would have 2 of the SFP ports for 10GBASE-T modules, and one of the SFP ports for a 10Gbe fiber module. So overall 3 of 4 SFP ports populated, 2 with 10GBASE-T modules and 1 with a 10G LC fiber module. Is there a power draw or temperature concern with this plan?

Thank you for the question. Please kindly check our reply as below.
1. We can not sure if it is okay for you to use 2 10GBASE-T SFP and 1 10G fiber, because it depends on your switch specification and cooling issue.
But you should pay attention to that the 10GBASE-T SFP has much higher power consumption and higher case temperature than the 10G fiber SFP module.
2. Dual vendor DACs are available, please check this link.  https://www.optcore.net/product/customized-sfp-10g-dac-p1m/
