Hello,
We received a few QSFP-40G-DAC-P1M-HPE from you. Unfortunately when we connect to our H3C switch they do not establish a link and we see the following:
<SWT-DIS-HPE-1.BCN-LMB-CLC>dis transceiver interface f1/0/29 FortyGigE1/0/29 transceiver information: Transceiver Type : STACK_QSFP_PLUS_4SFP_PLUS Connector Type : COPPER Wavelength(nm) : N/A Transfer Distance(m) : 1(STACK) Digital Diagnostic Monitoring : NO Vendor Name : OPTCORE Vendor Part Number : QSFP-40G-DAC-P1M Info: This is not a supported transceiver for this platform. HPE does not guarantee the normal operation or maintenance of unsupported transceivers. Please review the platform datasheet on the HPE web site or contact your HPE sales rep for a list of supported transceivers.
As you can see, vendor name shows as Optcore instead of the expected HPE. Was this DAC programmed with the wrong signature by mistake? Do we need to return it or is there some software tool we can use to reprogram it?
We urgently needed these DACs for a deadline, so I would appreciate your prompt response.
Actually we would still like to know if the modules are wrong because shouldn’t they show up as HPE? They are working though. Thanks.
So they are supposed to say vendor OPTCORE and not HPE? I was told by someone else that other 40G DACs work in either 40G mode or 4x10G mode. The optcore ones do not support this?
