QuestionsCategory: Networking10G RJ45 SFP+ for Synology DS1618+ Server
Nowak asked 5 years ago

We have these Zyxel Switches: XGS1930-52HP and XGS1930-52 https://www.zyxel.com/de/de/products_services/xgs1930_series.shtml?t=p

We connected our servers with 10GBit over CAT6 with your modules successfully: https://www.optcore.net/product/sfp-10g-t-zyx/

But there is one server, which is approximately 60 m away from the switch, the modules above do not work.
Could we use that one to connect the server: https://www.optcore.net/product/sfpp-t-80m-gen/
Which “Compatible brand” needs to be selected? Generic?

Thank you for your response!

Thanks for choosing the OPTCORE module. We suggest you use Cat6A/Cat7/Cat8 cable for long-distance. Many customers failed to connect long-distance on a 10G rate with Cat6 cable. Would you please let us know your server brand and model number?

We just checked our cable connection from our electrician: Everything is completely installed and verified with CAT7! The server here is a Synology DS1618+ with a 10GB PCIe card (E10G18-T1).

Thanks for the shared information, our generic compatible 10GBASE-T SFP+ will work with Synology.
