This Generic SFP-1G-BX80-D compatible 1000BASE-BX80-D SFP BiDi module supports 1G bi-directional connectivity using WDM technology. By integrating the 1550nm DFB laser and 1490nm PIN photodiode integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA) into a simplex LC BOSA, it supports a 80km link distance via a single strand of SMF. Compared with a regular SFP, this BiDi transceiver allows end-users to reduce the total cost of fiber cabling infrastructure by requiring only half of the fiber cables. That provides increased transmission capacity and simplifies installation without the need for new fibers. As a third-party supplier, OPTCORE provides this SFP BiDi at a very affordable price when compared to the original SFP-1G-BX80-D.
