Cependant, les fibres \u00e0 faible cr\u00eate d&rsquo;eau class\u00e9es comme ITU-T G.652C et G.652D appartiennent \u00e9galement aux fibres OS1 habituelles. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une fibre \u00e9troitement tamponn\u00e9e avec un affaiblissement de 1,0 dB\/km, principalement destin\u00e9e \u00e0 la transmission sur de courtes distances dans des installations int\u00e9rieures, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 2 km dans le cadre de l&rsquo;Ethernet 10 Gigabit. Dans le monde r\u00e9el, la fibre OS2 fait g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la G.652D. Avec une att\u00e9nuation maximale de 0,4dB\/km, cette fibre est principalement adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 la transmission longue distance dans les applications ext\u00e9rieures.
