Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un \u00e9metteur-r\u00e9cepteur optique enfichable \u00e0 chaud qui convertit les signaux \u00e9lectriques s\u00e9riels en signaux optiques. Ce port n&rsquo;accepte que les \u00e9metteurs-r\u00e9cepteurs \u00e0 facteur de forme GBIC, comme les types de fibre et de cuivre.&nbsp; ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b0b61ecc-4b84-4b20-a607-f8a761f66953\">Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une cage ou d&rsquo;un groupe de cages soud\u00e9es sur la carte m\u00e8re du commutateur. Comme elle ne contient aucun dispositif opto\u00e9lectronique, elle sert uniquement de connecteur, permettant \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9metteur-r\u00e9cepteur optique de communiquer avec le syst\u00e8me de commutation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-58d42952-d393-48db-bea2-3db7396652eb\">Le connecteur GBIC ci-dessus fait g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l&rsquo;interface de l&rsquo;\u00e9metteur-r\u00e9cepteur. Tous les \u00e9metteurs-r\u00e9cepteurs \u00e0 fibre optique sont \u00e9quip\u00e9s d&rsquo;un connecteur SC duplex ou simplex. Il y a donc moins de ports de commutation et moins de bande passante.
